Las personas que alcanzaron a verlo dijeron que fue aterrador. Un hombre de 31 años, identificado como Jeremy Putman fue detenido por la policía de Winchister, Virginia, luego de ser sorprendido mientras caminaba por las calles de la ciudad disfrazado como el Joker, el eterno enemigo de Batman.
La situación fue puesta en conocimiento de la policía a través de varias llamadas al 911, que alertaban sobre la presencia de un hombre con capa negra y la cara pintada como el personaje del cómic y las películas, quien además portaba lo que parecía una espada, recoge Infobae.
Agentes policiales acudieron hasta el lugar, mientras el el sospechoso deambulaba por Papermill Road y South Pleasant Valley Road, donde fue arrestado. Según las leyes de ese estado, ninguna persona puede estar en público vistiendo una máscara, cubriendo su rostro o llevando una capucha, por lo que puede ser detenido. De ser encontrado culpable por el tribunal, Putman podría ser sentenciado a cinco años de prisión.
Ante este hecho, se ha creado una campaña por las redes sociales que intenta reunir firmas para que Putman sea liberado y los cargos en su contra eliminados. “Fue falsamente acusado de tener una espada”, señala el pedido que figura en Change.org, pero que apenas pudo reunir la mitad de las firmas requeridas.
