En un comienzo todos creían que se trataba de una estrategia de marketing para publicitar los juguetes inteligentes. Sin embargo, a los meses después, quedó claro que las advertencias eran en serio, luego de que el gobierno alemán tomara cartas en el asunto.
Se trata de “Mi Amiga Cayla”, una muñeca que se encuentra siendo investigada por el Departamento de Justicia de EE.UU y la Unión Europea, por una supuesta recolección ilegal de datos personales de millones de niños que “conversan” con este juguete, según indica el sitio Infobae.
Pese a que las indagaciones se estaban llevando a cabo, el tema se tomó aun más en serio cuando las autoridades alemanas dieron la orden de destruir “con un martillo” el objeto calificado como un artículo de espionaje ilegal.
Dicha advertencia fue originada desde Berlín y fue enviada a través de correo electrónico a miles de hogares del territorio alemán.
Cabe decir que el Organismo Federal Alemán de Control de Redes, el pasado 17 de febrero, también emitió una orden de destrucción y prohibió su venta.
Quienes ignoren la advertencia, serán multados con hasta 25.000 euros y dos años de prisión bajo la ley de telecomunicaciones alemana.
Algunas de las muñecas fueron donadas al Museo Alemán de Espionaje en Berlín, el que se mostró interesado por el significado histórico que podría tener el objeto, convirtiéndose en el primer juguete incorporado en este tipo de recintos.
